Instrumentation of a Radio Telescope
The radio telescope is the largest in South America and is located in El Leoncito National Park in the Argentine Pre-Andes at an altitude of approximately 2,500 meters above sea level. The control and monitoring of the sensor system are carried out via a measuring system of the type MCC Dyn with a dynamic multiplexer (MUD). The connected server operates on the SmartDataCenter (SDC) data platform and is accessible via the internet.
Construction Project: Monitoring of the Radio Telescope Foundation
Construction Start: 2022
Client: Universidad Nacional De San Juan
Special Features:
For the Argentine-Chinese joint project CART40, a monitoring system was installed and put into operation. Due to the seismic conditions in the Andes, the foundation was equipped with an earthquake-triggered measurement system.
GLÖTZL Measurement Technology:
Measuring system MCC Dyn, dynamic multiplexer MUD, earth pressure sensors, reference pressure sensors, triple extensometer GTKE, earthquake monitoring system MENHIR, and evaluation platform SDC server (local).
