AUSTRIA

In 1961, the then new development by Franz Xaver Glötzl Sr., the hydraulic data transmission, was used for the first time on a large scale.

Gepatsch Reservoir

In the embankment dam of the Gepatsch Reservoir, 32 pore water pressure sensors and 53 earth pressure sensors were installed at 5 different depths and two cross-sections. Based on the measurement data, valuable insights were gained regarding the behavior of such a large structure during the construction phase. Additionally, the calculations regarding the stability of the structure could be verified.
